Three days and three nights of continuous darkness will begin with a dreadful thunder or earthquake. No fire will burn during this time. No one will eat or sleep — only pray. Lightning will penetrate into houses. Terrible curses of devils will be heard everywhere. Whoever looks curiously out of the window will die immediately.

During the darkness, a terrible plague will govern the earth. Large black marks will appear on the arms and bodies of the afflicted. The disease will spread rapidly and kill within hours. No medicine will help — only prayer and the grace of God.

Sulfurous fumes will fill everything, as if the whole of hell had been released upon the earth. The air will be poisonous and unbreathable. Those who venture outside will be suffocated. Only inside sealed homes with blessed candles will there be breathable air.
