Virgin Birth of the Messiah
740 BC — Jerusalem

A virgin will conceive and bear a son, and will call him Immanuel, meaning 'God with us.' This child would be a sign from God himself to the house of David.

Light to the Nations from Galilee

The land of Zebulun and Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations — the people walking in darkness will see a great light. A child will be born who will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Branch from Jesse's Root

Fall of Babylon

Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the pride and glory of the Babylonians, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations. No Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there.

Reality: Babylon fell to the Persian Empire under Cyrus the Great in 539 BC. The city gradually declined and was eventually abandoned. Its ruins lie in modern-day Iraq.
Regathering of Israel from All Nations
740 BC — Jerusalem

In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Babylonia, Hamath, and the islands of the Mediterranean. Messiah Buried with the Rich

Cyrus Called by Name
