Maronite monk and hermit from Annaya, Lebanon. Canonized in 1977. His body has remained incorrupt for over 125 years, continuously exuding a fragrant oil-like substance since his death. Over 1,000 miraculous healings have been documented at his tomb. A light was seen above his grave for many nights after burial. He lived as a silent ascetic hermit, devoted to prayer and the Eucharist. He is the most famous saint of the Maronite Church and one of the most venerated saints in the Middle East.
