Canonized

Last Anglo-Saxon king of England before the Norman Conquest. Canonized in 1161. Patron saint of England until 1348 (replaced by St. George). On his deathbed in January 1066 he received a prophetic vision known as 'The Prophecy of the Green Tree', which has been interpreted as foretelling the English Reformation and the eventual return of England to the Catholic faith.

I saw a green tree cut in half and the two parts separated by a distance of three furlongs. Without any human intervention, the two halves will come together again, take root, blossom, and bear fruit. When this happens, hope for better times.
