Apostasy Before the Antichrist
590 AD — Rome
Partial
In those last times, the love of many shall grow cold and iniquity shall abound. The wicked shall triumph over the just and the worldly shall despise the holy. Pastors of the Church shall be silent, the faithful shall be scattered, and the enemy of mankind shall gain great power through the widespread apostasy of Christians who have abandoned the true faith.
Before the end of the world, there shall come great tribulations such as have never been from the beginning of creation. Nation shall rise against nation, there shall be pestilences and famines and earthquakes in divers places. False prophets shall arise and lead many astray. The Antichrist shall perform false miracles and deceive even some of the elect if that were possible.
Before the last judgment, Enoch and Elijah shall be sent to preach against the Antichrist. They shall convert a remnant of the Jews and many of the faithful shall be strengthened. After they have completed their testimony, the Antichrist shall put them to death, but God shall raise them up after three days.
