French priest, founder of the Montfortian order and the Daughters of Wisdom. Author of the influential 'True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary'. Canonized in 1947. Pope John Paul II took his papal motto 'Totus Tuus' from Montfort's writings. His prophecies about the 'Apostles of the Last Times' — priests totally devoted to Mary who will renew the Church — are among the most cited in Catholic eschatological tradition.

The world will hate them, persecute them, and seek to destroy them. But they will be invincible because Mary will be their mother, their guide, and their shield. Jesus Christ will reign over the world through Mary. Her kingdom is coming — this is inevitable. As the first coming of Christ was prepared by Mary, so the second triumph of Christ will come through her. The age of Mary precedes the age of the final triumph.
