St. Paisios of Mount Athos

There will be a war between Russia and Turkey. In the beginning the Turks will believe they are winning, but this will lead to their destruction. The Russians, eventually, will win and take over Constantinople. Turkey will be dissected in 3 or 4 parts. The countdown has begun. We will take the lands that belong to us, the Armenians will take theirs and the Kurds their own.

We will take Constantinople back, but not we ourselves. Because the majority of our young people have become degraded, we are not capable of such a thing. Nevertheless, God will arrange it that others will take the City and give it to us. This way our villages will be liberated, our enslaved homelands. Constantinople will be liberated, will become Greek again. Hagia Sophia will open again.

When the Turks close the straits, World War III will come. After the challenge of the Turks, the Russians will descend to the Straits. Not to help us. They will have other interests. But, without wanting to, they will help us. There will be war two and a half years. We shall be victorious because we are Orthodox.

Turkey will be broken into three parts. One part will go to Greece, one to Armenia, and one to Kurdistan. The Turks themselves will bring about their own destruction through their arrogance and aggression. This will happen after they provoke a conflict they cannot win.

Greece will expand her territory significantly. She will regain Constantinople and lands in Asia Minor. This will not come through war alone but through divine providence. The Greeks should not boast — it is God's work, not theirs.

They will introduce electronic identity cards and systems to control people. This is the preparation for the system of the Antichrist. The number 666 will be hidden in these systems. Christians must resist this — not through violence but through faith and refusal to accept the mark.

A sign that the fulfillment of prophecy is near will be the destruction of the Mosque of Omar (Dome of the Rock / Al-Aqsa) in Jerusalem. It will be destroyed in order to restore the Temple of Solomon, which once stood on the same place. This event will mark the approach of the end times and the gathering of the nations toward Jerusalem. Note: This prophecy is attributed to Elder Paisios through his spiritual children and oral tradition; some statements attributed to him are debated among Orthodox scholars.

In the end times, the Jews will proclaim the Antichrist as their Messiah in the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem. He will enter the Temple and declare himself divine. Many will be deceived by his signs and wonders. This will be the beginning of the great tribulation, which will last three and a half years before the return of Christ in glory.

When events begin, they will unfold very rapidly. One event will follow another like dominoes. People will not have time to react. Those who are spiritually prepared will understand what is happening. Those who are not will be lost in confusion.
