To Fr. Petar Perica, Therese Neumann also prophesied: 'Croatia will be free and independent by the end of this century.' At the time of this prophecy (late 1930s), Croatia was part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, later to be absorbed into communist Yugoslavia after World War II. The prophecy was fulfilled on June 25, 1991, when Croatia declared independence — exactly at the end of the 20th century, after decades of communist repression and through the sacrifices of the Homeland War (1991-1995).
